Scope
A publication house that knows what it stands for.
The Book Co. is an independent publication house with a clear point of view about what publishing should be. Not a vanity press. Not a volume-first operation. A house where the book itself is the entire point — where editorial rigour and design quality are treated as inseparable.
The identity is typographic at its core, which is the only appropriate choice for a publisher. The logomark is built from type. The colour palette draws from the inside of old hardbacks — endpaper blues, cloth-binding reds, the cream of aged paper. The overall effect is of a house that has always been there, which is exactly right for a publisher with a decade-long track record.
Our work spans book cover design, interior layout, and social media — a content system that treats every post as an invitation to think about something. Book covers, yes — but also the sentences that stopped us, the arguments we're having with the text, the questions that don't resolve. Publishing is a conversation. The design should extend that conversation, not just announce the product.
